Providing young people an opportunity to mature in their faith-walk and life skills through Christian service
U.M. ARMY is an acronym which stands for United Methodist Action Reach-Out Mission by Youth. U.M. ARMY’s mission is: “To provide Christ-centered quality youth work camps that serve people in need and promote spiritual growth and leadership development in youth.”
U.M. ARMY Mission camps are an opportunity for youth, college students and adult leaders to experience Christian growth through mission, worship and fellowship. Individual participants and church groups combine their strengths with those of other groups to meet home repair and maintenance needs of those unable to help themselves.
A Chrysalis weekend is an experience of Christian spiritual renewal and formation for our high school aged youth that begins with a three-day short course in Christianity. It is an opportunity to meet Jesus Christ in a new way as God’s grace and love is revealed to you through other believers.
The Chrysalis experience begins with the prayerful discernment and invitation from a sponsor. After one accepts this invitation they complete an application. The Chrysalis leaders prayerfully consider each applicant and in God’s time, the person is invited to attend a three-day experience of New Testament Christianity as a lifestyle.
Ganado Christian Youth Fellowship (GCYF) is a non-denominational youth group sponsored by FUMC Ganado for junior high and high school aged youth.
GCYF is held on Wednesday evenings during the school year and provides our community youth with a light meal, an activity and a Christian message and or lesson.
GCYF groups regularly participate in Jr High and High School UMARMY mission camps held in the summer.
Our GCYF program is always in search of meal sponsors and assistance with adult leadership.
To learn more, please use our contact page and ask for additional information about the GCYF program.
